Hearth Summit Detroit is seeking artists whose creative expression contributes to individual, collective, and ecological wellbeing.

Artist Guidelines

​

Dance, Music, Performance, Poetry & Storytelling

• Presentations should not exceed 15 minutes.
• Interactive and audience engaged experiences are encouraged.
• Include any technical, sound, staging, or space requirements.
• Solo and group performances are welcome.

Visual Arts, Photography, Painting, Sculpture & Installation Art

• Please provide images or samples of the proposed work, if available.
• Include dimensions, materials, and installation requirements, if applicable.
• Artists are responsible for transportation, setup, and removal unless otherwise arranged.

Video & Interactive Art

• Please provide a supplementary information sheet detailing space requirements, layout, power needs, lighting conditions, sound requirements, internet access, installation specifications, and participant interaction.

 

Eligibility

• All artistic disciplines, mediums, and forms of creative expression are welcome.

• Preference will be given to Detroit based artists, though artists outside Detroit whose lived experience, artistic practice, or creative expression has a clear and meaningful connection to Detroit communities are also encouraged to apply.

• There is no fee to apply. Selected artists will receive a stipend and limited support for materials, subject to availability and project needs.
